Transiently Shared Tuple Spaces for Sensor Networks

چکیده
In this paper we argue that the notion of transiently shared tuple space, originally introduced by the Lime model and middleware to support application development in mobile ad hoc networks, can be successfully applied also to wireless sensor networks (WSNs). While the two scenarios are similar, the peculiar constraints posed by the WSNs (e.g., in terms of resources and energy) require non-trivial adaptations. Here, we describe two models and systems, TinyLime and TeenyLime, providing transiently shared tuple spaces in two different WSN operational scenarios, and elaborate on alternate designs and opportunities.

Exploiting Transiently Shared Tuple Spaces for Location Transparent Code Mobility
Code mobility greatly improves the flexibility of the architecture of a distributed application. However, currently available platforms do not exploit fully the potential of mobile code. For instance, remote dynamic linking of code is often restrained to a well-known site, and applications are prevented from manipulating their own code base. In this paper, we use the notion of transiently share...
متن کاملTuple Space Middleware for Wireless Networks
Regions. Welsh et al. [23] propose a set of general-purpose communication primitives providing addressing, data sharing, and aggregation among a given subset of nodes. A region defines a neighborhood relationship between a specific node and other nodes in the system. For instance, a region can be defined to include all nodes within a given number of hops or within physical distance d. Data shar...

متن کاملAgilla: A Mobile Agent Middleware for Sensor Networks
Agilla is a mobile agent middleware for sensor networks. Mobile agents are special processes that can migrate across sensors. They increase network flexibility by enabling active in-network reprogramming. Neighbor lists and tuple spaces are used for agent coordination. Agilla was originally implemented on Mica2 motes, but has been ported to other platforms. Its Mica2 implementation consumes 41....
متن کاملLPKP: location-based probabilistic key pre-distribution scheme for large-scale wireless sensor networks using graph coloring
Communication security of wireless sensor networks is achieved using cryptographic keys assigned to the nodes. Due to resource constraints in such networks, random key pre-distribution schemes are of high interest. Although in most of these schemes no location information is considered, there are scenarios that location information can be obtained by nodes after their deployment. In this paper,...
